Access to Work Support for Adults with ADHD

James can provide both ADHD coaching and Institutional training on ADHD funded by Access to Work.

What is Access to Work?

Access to Work is a government scheme that helps people with ADHD (diagnosed or not) get support to stay well and work effectively.

It’s open to both employed and self-employed people, and can fund up to £62,900 per year for things like:

  • ADHD coaching

  • Training for your manager or team

  • Assistive tech and software

  • Noise-cancelling headphones or flexible hours

You won’t lose any other benefits, and if you apply within 6 weeks of starting a job, the equipment belongs to you—not your employer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get ADHD coaching funded through Access to Work?
  • Yes. ADHD is recognised under the Equality Act 2010. Coaching for focus, organisation, time management and more can be fully funded.

Absolutely. The scheme is open to employees, freelancers, and business owners. You just need to be doing paid work (or about to start) and based in the UK.

Access to Work funding is specific to workplace needs—not therapy or healthcare. If you’re struggling to stay organised, communicate, manage time, or get tasks done at work, coaching and admin support can still be funded.

Yes. You don’t have to go with whoever the assessor suggests. You can request us directly and we can provide a quote in advance.

As well as coaching and virtual PA support, you might be able to get:

  • Assistive tech (e.g. mind mapping or text-to-speech tools)

  • Software subscriptions

  • Specialist training

  • Adapted furniture or workspace setup

  • Travel support (if public transport is difficult)

It varies, but most people hear from an assessor within 6–8 weeks. If you need urgent help, we can sometimes offer initial coaching sessions before approval.

Nope. Once you’re approved, we handle everything. We’ll invoice Access to Work directly and keep you in the loop.
