SUMMARY:Seed Talks – The Science of AuDHD with Prof James Brown - Salisbury
DESCRIPTION:ADHD and autism often co-occur\, commonly referred to as ‘AuDHD’\, and the lived experience of AuDHD can be very different from ADHD or autism alone. But what’s actually going on in the brains of people with both autism and ADHD? Join Professor James Brown for a deep dive into the neurobiology of ADHD and the emerging evidence that AuDHD may represent a distinct brain profile\, not simply a diagnostic overlap. \nIn this talk\, we will explore the shared genetic\, neurological\, and development roots of AuDHD\, the internal conflicts it can create\, and how it may be a leading pathway to burnout.  We will also examine how executive function\, emotion regulation\, and sensory processing are influenced  by real\, measurable differences in brain connectivity and dynamics. Finally\, we’ll learn why stimulant ADHD medications can work differently\, why support strategies need to be tailored\, and how future research may reshape diagnosis and treatment. \n  \nVenue: The Guildhall\, Guildhall Square\, The Guildhall\, Salisbury SP1 1JH \nSee outside the venue here \nSee inside the venue here \nDoors open: 8:15pm \nEvent start time: 8:30pm \nThis is a 16+ event. \n  \nTickets available here  \nYou can view all events by JBHD Ltd and subscribe to the event calendar here.
